Rt Hon Sir Vince Cable

Vince Cable served as Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills in the
Conservative/Liberal Democrat coalition government. He served in the post for five years,
before which he was Lib Dem Shadow Chancellor.

Before becoming an MP in 1997 he worked in a number of trade and government roles
including positions positions at the World Bank and UN. He also served as special adviser to
Commonwealth secretary-general Sonny Ramphal, was Head of Economics at the Royal
Institute of International Affairs and Chief Economist of Shell.

As Secretary of State he was a key government figure leading policy and statements on all
aspects of business, regulation, tax and other issues related to commerce and the needs of
business at home and abroad. Of particular interest were areas around finance, European
economic and monetary union, business and the environment, and the City.

Vince has written several books on trade policy and international finance, as well as a study of
international telecommunications, and the acclaimed The Storm: The World Economic Crisis
& what it means. A regular guest on broadcast media and in print, Vince has also been a
regular columnist for the Economist and the Independent.

 

Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson

Britain’s greatest Paralympic athlete, Tanni Grey-Thompson’s magnificent career spanned 16 years and 5 Paralympic Games. An incredible medal haul of 11 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze established her as one of the most gifted and courageous sportswomen of her generation. Tanni also won the London Wheelchair Marathon 6 times between 1992 and 2002.

Now retired, Tanni is President of the National Council of Voluntary Organisations, is chair of ukactive and sits on the board of Transport for London and the London Legacy Development Corporation. Made a ‘Dame’ in 2005, she was elevated to the House of Lords in 2010 to serve as a cross bench peer with specialist interest in disability, health and education.

Scott Atwell is the Manager of FIX Trading and Connectivity for American Century Investments, a leading investment manager committed to delivering superior investment performance and building long-term client relationships since 1958.  Serving investment professionals, institutions, corporations and individual investors, American Century Investments offers a broad array of products across a variety of investment disciplines.  With offices in New York, London, Hong, Kong, Mountain View, Calif. and Kansas City, Mo., the company manages more than $140 billion in assets through mutual funds, institutional separate accounts, commingled trusts and subadvisory accounts.

Mr. Atwell developed American Century’s FIX system providing FIX connectivity to virtually all of the brokers used for their equity trading worldwide.  He currently serves as a Director for the FIX Trading Community organization, the non-profit organization which manages the FIX Protocol.  He has served as Co-chairperson of the Global Steering Committee for FIX Trading Community from 2004 through 2011, has served as Co-chairperson of the FIX Global Technical Committee from 1997 through 2005 and actively participates in several other FIX committees and working groups.

 

Richard Balarkas, Director, FIX Trading Community, Director, Quendon Consulting

Richard Balarkas is an independent consultant regarded as a leading pioneer in electronic trading and the development of market structure. Positions held include CEO of Instinet Europe, Global Head of ElectronicTrading Credit Suisse First Boston, COO for equity trading BZW,  Head of Retail Trading BZW, founder and CEO of the City Group for Smaller Companies (CISCO), Head of National Market Development at the London Stock Exchange.

Mr Balarkas has served as the global co-chair of Fix Protocol and is currently a Director of FIX Trading. In October 2012 he received a special award from Financial News for personal contribution of the decade. In 2015 he was he received a Lifetime Achievement award from the TRADE magazine. His views have been cited by many major media organisations and he continues to be a featured speaker at industry conferences. 

 

Dr. Robert Barnes, Co-Chair EMEA Regional Committee, FIX Trading Community, CEOTurquoise

Robert Barnes is Chief Executive of Turquoise, the European multilateral trading facility majority owned by London Stock Exchange Group in partnership with the user community. Prior to his joining in August 2013, he worked at UBS from February 1994, gaining experience as yellow jacket on the Liffe derivatives trading floor and most recently as CEO of UBS MTF and Managing Director, Equities. His industry roles include serving as Chairman, 2004-2009, of the Securities Trading Committee of the London Investment Banking Association and participating on key advisory and policy groups within the financial services sector. Robert holds a BA from Harvard, a PhD from Cambridge, and is a Chartered Fellow and Board Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.

 

Marc Berthoud, Executive Director, Deputy Head Data & Index Products, SIX Swiss Exchange Ltd 

Marc currently serves as Deputy Head of the Data and Index Division of SIX Swiss Exchange Ltd, a leading European market operator.

In recent years he has been involved in various market data services and liquidity measurement initiatives (Quote Quality Metrics concept for a broad range of structured products, ETFs and fixed-income securities and others).

Marc Co Chairs the FIX Market Model Typology (MMT) Technical Committee. MMT provides a structured trade flagging standard that ensures that all trades of similar nature are flagged in the same way irrespective of who is the data producer. MMT v3.0 will satisfy the MiFID II trade flagging requirements.

Additionally, Marc has a leading role in several collaborative initiatives delivering industry wide benefits. He contributes to the FESE market data group and is Vice Chair of the WFE Statistical Advisory Group.

Marc began his career in the securities industry working for the Geneva Stock Exchange during its transition towards fully electronic trading. He had previously worked in Munich for the energy company EON. Marc graduated in Economics and holds industry certifications from ICMA, FISD and is a certified Prince 2 professional

Marc is a commissioner for Swiss National League basketball games.

 

Rob Boardman, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, ITG

Robert Boardman is Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer for ITG in Europe and is responsible for the strategic development of the company. Before his current appointment he successfully led the algorithmic business in Europe and more recently spearheaded ITG’s electronic trading offerings. 

Prior to joining ITG in April 2006, Boardman spent 12 years at Goldman Sachs where he held various positions, including executive director in the electronic transaction services sales team. He also led a team in implementing direct market access, algorithmic trading and arbitrage strategies for institutional investors and hedge funds. 

Robert Boardman was educated at Oxford University where he gained undergraduate and post-graduate degrees in particle physics. 

 

Anna Branch, Global Head of Market Data, Fidessa

Anna joined Fidessa in 2011 to head up the firm's market data business. In addition to this role she was appointed Co-Chair of the FIX Trading Community's MMT (Market Model Typology) Steering Committee in 2015, an initiative focusing on the establishment of a practical and common solution for standards in post-trade equity data.

With more than twenty years' experience in financial markets, Anna began her career in fixed income sales for Bear Stearns before moving to Knight Ridder where she ran their Euro program globally. With the firm's acquisition by Bridge, Anna was appointed European Director eBridge and was responsible for developing the European eCommerce business for Bridge before Reuters acquired it. Anna spent seven years at Reuters where she was head of their wealth management business globally before moving on to implement the firm's change management program.

 

Matt Bumstead, B-PIPE Product Manager, Bloomberg for Enterprise, Bloomberg

Product Manager in Bloomberg Enterprise Solutions Real-time. Responsible for B-PIPE, Bloomberg's normalised consolidated market data feed, offering access to in over 900 real-time products from more than 300 market operators, in addition to thousands of contributed pricing sources.

Matt has 20 years of experience in exchange market data, working on inbound exchange data feeds into Reuters (6 years) and Bloomberg (8 years), before moving to focus on outbound enterprise products at Bloomberg (4+ years).

Matt is also Co-Chair of the Market Model Typology (MMT) Technical Committee, a working group of the FIX Trading Community, whose goal is to define a standard for describing transactions ("trades") across European markets and trade reporting services, building upon the trade flags that the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has stipulated in Regulatory Technical Standards (RTS) 1 and 2 (formerly 8 and 9) for the Markets in Financial Instruments Direction (MiFID) II.

 

Adam Conn, Chair IPO Subgroup, FIX Trading Community, Head of Dealing, Baring Asset Management

Adam is the Head of Baring Asset Management's global dealing team  with responsibility across all asset classes. He joined Barings in March 2010 from Atticus Capital (2004-2010) where he held the position of Managing Director, Global Head of Trading. Adam started his career in 1985 as a junior trader on the floor of the London Stock Exchange with Scott Goff Layton & Co before moving to GT Management (1987- 1994) in London and then Hong Kong. Adam moved to Bear Stearns Asia in 1994. Adam returned to London in 1998 before joining Instinet (1999-2004) as a European sales trader. Adam is an individually Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment and in 1990 was the first Member of the London Stock Exchange to be elected from a non-member Firm. Adam is Joint Chair of the Fix Protocol EMEA Investment Management Working Group. 

 

Michael Cooper, Chair, Cybersecurity Working Group, FIX Trading Community, CTO Radianz, BT GBFM

As CTO for BT Radianz, Michael is responsible for architecture and the technical strategies that underpin BT’s Financial Market propositions. These products and services include: the BT Radianz Cloud — the world’s largest secure networked financial services community, BT Radianz Messaging, BT Radianz Hosting and Venue Interconnect.

Previously, Michael was the Head of GB&FM Product Technology. During this time he created a business technology group responsible for the development and evolution of products and propositions together with leadership of innovation. Prior to this he ran the Radianz Customer Solutions team that provided early adopter solutions for key clients and new technologies.

Laura Craft, Director, Equities & Fixed Income, Traiana

Laura started her career over eighteen years ago at Risk Magazine, Incisive Media’s specialist derivatives journal, where she worked as Marketing Director.  After five years she moved to Thomson Financial ESG, which later merged with DTCC to form Omgeo. While at Omgeo she was responsible for the development of marketing strategy and programs for the firm’s post-trade processing solutions for equities in the European, Middle East, and African markets. She later moved into a product management role, where she oversaw the development of new products, and the associated market development efforts for those products.  Today, Laura is Director of Equities & Fixed Income Product Strategy at Traiana, an ICAP company, where she is responsible for expanding Traiana’s post-trade capabilities into the securities space. Laura is an active member of FIX Protocol Ltd and is currently Co-Chair of the Post Trade Working Group.  She holds a BA (Hons) in International Marketing Management, and has studied at the School of Economics in Amsterdam.

Paul’s career in the City has spanned over 20 years. During that time Paul worked at LIFFE in various roles including European Head of European Sales. At SEB Futures Paul was Global Head of Sales before moving to RBS to work with Prime Services. At BNY Mellon Clearing Paul worked as Head of Customer Relationship Management and Business Development, EMEA and also as an MD within Collateral Management Product Development.

 

Jody Drulard, Chief Product OfficerDealogic

Jody Drulard is responsible for product direction, design, marketing, and operations for Dealogic.

Jody joined Dealogic in 1994 and in 2001 took charge of overseeing the global investment banking suite comprising content, consultative services and technology.

Dealogic provides a financial technology platform used by hundreds of investment banks and institutional investors worldwide to optimize resource allocation and relationship management.  The platform was used to execute nearly every IPO in the history of the European capital markets including all major privatizations.

 

Nick Dutton, Head of Compliance, BATS Chi-X Europe

Nick Dutton is Head of Compliance for BATS Chi-X Europe, Europe’s largest equity exchange by volume and value traded.  Nick manages BATS’ compliance with it regulatory obligations and its day-to-day relationship with its primary regulator, the FCA.  Nick also supports the development of new business, by advising management on the regulatory implications of new initiatives and on the likely impact of new regulation.  Nick is active in various industry MiFID II initiatives including the work being done by the FIX community through its regulatory subgroups.  Nick has previously worked in a variety of regulatory roles for London Stock Exchange, PwC, Nomura and Ronin Trading.  Nick has a degree in Government from the London School of Economics.

 

Brian Godins, Managing Director, Global Head Broker Outsourcing Securities Services (BOSS)HSBC Bank PLC

Brian joined HSBC on 17thSeptember 2007 and during this time has run Global Fixed Income change, European Fixed Income and Equity Securities Operations, Global Equities Securities and Global Equities Operations covering cash equities, prime finance, equity derivatives, asset services and tax. In January 2016, Brian moved in to the HSBC Securities Services (HSS) Organisation to run the BOSS Operations proposition, providing post trade securities services to its internal Markets partners and the external broker dealer community. Prior to joining HSBC, Brian worked at Morgan Stanley for 13 years, working in predominantly Run the Bank and Change roles in Operations across all asset classes, as well as time in Technology.

Over the years Brian has worked on industry initiatives across the Securities arena, and continues to work with a number of industry bodies, market associations and vendors. Brian attended London Guildhall University, gaining a 2.1 BA Honours in Financial Economics, and subsequently joined a small Private Wealth Management bank before joining Morgan Stanley during May 1994.

 

Mark Goodman, Global Head of Electronic Trading for FX, Rates and Credit, UBS

Mark originally joined SBC Warburg in 1997 and worked in a variety of roles within the equity business before focusing on the early efforts to establish electronic trading in this asset class. He advised clients across Europe on the adoption of algorithmic trading before focusing on the hedge fund sector from 2004. In 2006 he moved to New York to develop the international electronic business with US clients before returning to the UK as Head of Electronic Sales for EMEA until 2009.

In 2009 he joined Société Générale to head their electronic business for cash equities and equity derivatives, with responsibility for business development, sales and trading for this function.

In 2015 Mark re-joined UBS as Global Head of Electronic Trading for FX, Rates and Credit and is leading efforts to help clients respond to the increasing liquidity challenges across these asset classes..

 

Huw Gronow, Co-Chair EMEA Investment Management Management Subcommittee, FIX Trading Community, Director, Equities Trading, Principal Global Equities 

Huw Gronow – Huw is Head of Trading, Europe and Asia for Principal Global Equities, an investment group within Principal Global Investors. He provides oversight and leadership for the London, Singapore and Tokyo trading desks, dealing in developed and emerging markets equities in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Before joining Principal in 2004, Huw was a trader at Blackrock International where he specialized in U.K. equities. Previously, he was a trader at TT International Investment Management specializing in global equities. 

He is a co-chair of the FIX EMEA Investment Management Working Group and a member of other working groups for the FIX Trading Community. He also sits on The Investment Association’s Buy-Side Trading Committee, and, internally at PGI, several risk and regulatory sub-committees. 

Huw received a Master’s degree in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge. He is also a Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (MCSI).

 

Philippe Guillot, Executive Director, Markets Directorate, Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF)

Philippe Guillot was appointed Executive director of the Markets Directorate at the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF), the national regulator of France on March 2012. The Markets Directorate oversees markets and monitors market infrastructure and stakeholders. Since joining the Autorité des marchés financiers, Philippe has taken a leading role in the market microstructure debate, especially in relation to issues regarding tick size. He actively contributes to various ESMA working groups, focussing on the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive Level II. He is a member of the Regulatory Oversight Committee for the Global Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) System.

Philippe began his career in finance in 1987 at DKL James Capel (now HSBC), where he held various positions. In 1991 he joined Enskilda Securities as a market maker, first in Paris, then in London. In 1998 he moved to Crédit Agricole Cheuvreux in Paris, taking over as head of Facilitation, before being made Group Trading director in 2006, in Paris and then London. Throughout this time Philippe has played an active role in numerous working groups and market authorities dealing with MiFID issues. He was a member of the Securities Trading Committee of the AFME (Association for Financial Markets in Europe), and represented Cheuvreux with the Regulated Markets and MTF (Multilateral Trading Facilities). Philippe holds a degree in private law from Paris XI University. In his personal life, Philippe is a keen amateur cyclist and last summer he completed the Tour du Mont Blanc and the Paris-Brest-Paris sportives.  

 

Rebecca Healey, Co-Chair of EMEA Regulatory Sub Committee, FIX Trading Community, CEO & Co-Founder, Incisus Capital Partners

A recognized thought leader in market structure, regulatory reform and financial trading technology, Rebecca is an independent research analyst focusing on the complex challenges the financial service industry now faces and how technology can help address these, ultimately improving capital markets both for participants and investors.

James Hilton, Director, Co-Head AES Sales, Europe (Advanced Execution Services), Credit Suisse Securities (Europe)

James is Co-Head of European AES Sales at Credit Suisse. James has worked at Credit Suisse for nearly ten years, developing AES into the leading algorithmic trading business in Europe. He has experience covering a wide spectrum of clients across EMEA, with particular focus and success in the UK, Scandinavia and Switzerland. In his current role, James is responsible for developing strategy, and the sales and marketing of the AES product in Europe.

Prior to joining Credit Suisse, James spent six years at UBS during the evolution of equity electronic trading, and was responsible for selling to hedge funds and institutional clients.

Tom Jordan, Founder & CEOJordan & Jordan

Hanno Klein, EMEA Chair, Global Technical Committee, FIX Trading Community, Senior Vice President, Deutsche Börse

Hanno Klein is Senior Vice President at Deutsche Börse Group which also provides the technology for Eurex, its main derivatives exchange. He joined the company in 1997 and worked in various positions and projects of strategic and operational nature in Germany and the USA. From 2001 to 2005, he served as Vice President of Deutsche Boerse Systems Inc. in Chicago.

In June 2006, he helped to re-establish the FPL Exchanges/ECN Working Group

(EEWG) which was elevated to the FPL Global Exchanges and Markets Committee (GExMC) in September 2007 and co-chaired by him until its transition to the Listed Products & Exchanges Committee end of 2013. He is co-chair of the FPL Global Technical Committee (GTC) since July 2010 and a member of the FPL Global Steering Committee (GSC).

His primary objective is to enable and promote the harmonized usage of FIX by exchanges and other marketplaces. An increased adoption of FIX by this group of users requires a focus on performance together with a true standardization. 

 

Glenna Lynch, Global Head of Commission Management, UBS Investment Bank 

Glenna Lynch is responsible for UBS' Commission Management Services platform globally. She works with clients and trade associations reviewing latest trends and best practices as well as participating in industry panels on commission management topics. Glenna has over 20 years' experience in commission management and is considered an expert in her field. Prior to re-joining UBS Glenna worked at Morgan Stanley and JP Morgan for 13 years.  

 

Trevor Mallinson, Interest Rate Swaps Business Manager, Bloomberg

Trevor Mallinson is a Fixed Income Trading Business Manager at Bloomberg responsible for creating electronic trading solutions for regulated execution venues within Europe and Asia. He currently has a specific focus on Bloomberg's Multilateral Trading Facility.

Prior to joining Bloomberg, Mr Mallinson worked for six years on the IR/FX Hybrids trading desk at J.P. Morgan before moving to Goldman Sachs for seven years to work with Derivatives, FX Spot and Derivatives, Government Bond and Repo desks.

Mr Mallinson gained a Bachelor’s degree in Economics & Management from the London School of Economics.

Jim Northey has over twenty five years experience as a manager, consultant, and implementer within the capital markets industry. He recently joined CameronTec Group as a result of CameronTec’s acquisition of Lasalletech where he will continue to provide management advisory services, lead implementations, and represent CameronTec within industry standardization efforts.

Jim is active in financial messaging standards by regularly contributing to the FIX and ISO 20022 standardization efforts. Jim serves as a FIX Global Technical Committee Co-chair. He previously served as co-chair of the FIX America’s Regional Committee and the FIX Global Derivatives Committee. Jim represents FPL within ASC X.9 as the co-chair of the X9D Subcommittee for securities processing, which is responsible for US standards.

Jim served on the CFTC Technical Advisory Committee – Subcommittee on High Frequency Trading. He was selected to serve on the U.S. Department of the Treasury Financial Research Advisory Committee.

In 2006, Jim was awarded the Annual Achievement Award from the Futures Industry Association for creation the FIXML standard for listed derivatives clearing.

Jim holds a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Indianapolis and an M.S. in Financial Markets and Trading from the Illinois Institute of Technology Stuart School of Business. He teaches derivatives and financial engineering at Michigan Technological University.

 

Olga Petrenko, Senior Policy Officer, Market Integrity, Markets Department, European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA)

Olga Petrenko is the Market Integrity Senior Officer within the Markets Division at the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA). She is involved in ESMA work on defining reporting requirements that stem from European regulatory regimes – EMIR, MiFID II/MiFIR, MAR and SFTR – in relation to various types of market data. More specifically, her current tasks focus ESMA implementing measures on trades, transactions, order book and instrument reference data reporting.

Ms. Petrenko joined CESR (predecessor of ESMA) in March 2009 from the Lithuanian Securities Commission where she held the position of the Head of the Market Monitoring Division.

Ms. Petrenko received a Master’s Degree in Financial Markets from the Mykolas Romeris University in Vilnius, Lithuania and a qualification in Applied Informatics from the Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas, Lithuania.

Chris Pickles, Co-chair Reference Data Subgroup, FIX Trading Community, Open Symbology Team, Bloomberg

Chris Pickles has worked in many roles across the financial technology sector internationally for over 40 years, and is a member of the Open Symbology Team at Bloomberg LP.

Among those roles he has been Secretary-General of the European Association of Securities Dealers in Brussels, Head of Exchange Products for Deutsche Boerse in Frankfurt,  Head of Marketing - Global Banking & Financial Markets for BT Global Services, an international marketing manager for Reuters in London, Paris and Frankfurt, and also has a consultancy background working with clients such as IBM, Motorola, AT&T, BT and UK Government.  Chris is a member of BSI IST/12, the UK input to ISO standards for the financial services sector, and is co-chair of the Reference Data Subgroup of the FIX Trading Community

Peter Randall, CEO, SETL

Peter Randall was the first Executive Director of FIX Protocol, which is now the ubiquitous standard for buy-side, sell-side, & exchange-side electronic communication. Peter was one of the founders and Chief Executive of ChiX Europe which on November 2nd 2007, the date that MiFID came into force, traded over €1 billion. BATS Chi-X is now currently the largest stock exchange in Europe with a market share of over 26%.

Peter has successfully driven change in financial markets at the boundaries between technology, regulation and adoption. He is the COO of SETL, which seeks to offer distributed ledger technology to banks, asset managers, market infrastructure providers and regulators.

Peter was educated at the London School of Economics and the University of Oxford.

Ian Richardson, Founder, FIX4wards

Ian founded FIX4wards which provides consultancy and training services to the electronic trading community.
He has worked in the financial services industry for over 20 years at JP Morgan Investment Management and product vendors including NYFIX, NYSE Technologies and Ullink. He has engaged with many market leading clients in product sales and technical consultancy/implementation roles to support their trading project requirements. Ian has also designed and implemented numerous FIX training programmes, and has trained over 500 industry practitioners in the use and application of the FIX protocol

 

Hubert Rotivel, Co-Chair EMEA Investment Management Subcommittee, FIX Trading Community, Global Head of Dealing, BNP PARIBAS Dealing Services

Hubert started his career at Fuji Bank in Paris as a Forex Customer Dealer, then he moved to “Groupe Caisse des Dépôts et Consignation (CDC)” as a Junior Forex Dealer in 1994, and in 1995 he moved to the CDC Asset Management Group as Index Fund Manager.
In 1998, he launched the dealing activity, and contributed to implement Program Trading tool, EMS, TCA and to develop the Cash Equity and Stock Lending activity in Natixis AM. 

He joined BNP in 2008 as Head of Equity Dealing, in 2010 he was appointed as Global Head of Equity and Derivatives managing the Paris and HK desks.
Since 2014, he is in charge of the Paris, London and HK dealing teams for Fixed Income and Equity.

He contributes actively through roundtables and consultations about regulatory topics like MIFID 2, Transaction Tax, HFT.

He’s a member of the FIX Trading buy side group.

Lionel Sancenot, Head of Business Development, Financial Markets, Iress

Lionel joined iress in 2014 in London to launch SmartHub , the global network for Buy and Sell sides covering all aspects related to electronic trading, analytics and post trade for most asset classes. After the acquisition of the LSE Hub from the LSE Group in 2015, SmartHub now proposes a global coverage , innovative functionalities and is used by a large portion of the buy and sell sides internationally.

Prior to that, Lionel was the EVP for Trading at SunGard. Some of his main responsibilities involved leading the Product Strategy and the Business Development globally.

From 2004 to 2011 , Lionel was the Managing Director heading up North East Asia for SunGard. This large and fast growing business allowed him to work with a portfolio of solutions ranging from back office to electronic trading, risk and market data for the Buy and Sell sides on both equities and derivatives instruments.

He also started a successful business around electronic trading in South Africa when he was with GL TRADE.

Lionel holds a Master in Finance from the CNAM in Paris.

 

Lee Sanders, Head of Execution FX & MM and UK & Asia Fixed Income Trading, AXA Investment Managers

Lee is primarily responsible for foreign exchange and money market execution globally, and also oversees fixed income trading in the UK and Asia.

In 1991 Lee joined Sun Life Investment Management (which became part of AXA IM) as a member of the US equities team, moving into the fixed income team in 1994 as an analyst and from 1996 as an investment manager.  In 2002, he moved to Trading & Securities Financing (TSF) to help establish fixed income, foreign exchange and money market dealing.  In 2006, all pan-European FX trading was incorporated into TSF.  Lee also worked with the business to develop electronic systems and oversee transaction cost analysis activities.  In 2010, TSF created a desk to handle our global MM business and in 2012 Lee was given responsibility for fixed income execution in the UK and Asia working with the global head of FX execution.

Lee left school after A-levels and worked in the equities markets for a number of years before joining Sun Life Investment Management in 1991.

 

Edwin Schooling-Latter, Head of the Bank's Markets and Infrastructure Division, FCA

Edwin Schooling Latter, is Head of Markets Policy at the Financial Conduct Authority, where his responsibilities encompass policy in relation to primary and secondary markets, trading venues, trading conduct and benchmarks. 

From 2011-2014 Edwin was head of the Financial Market Infrastructure Directorate at the Bank of England, responsiblefor supervision of CCPs, securities settlement systems, and systemically important payment systems, and for the Bank’s input to policy making on central clearing and OTC derivatives reforms.  Prior to appointment as head of MID, Edwin worked in the Bank’s Financial Stability area for several years, including as secretary to the Bank’s Financial Stability Committee.  Edwin was also previously Managing Director of UK payment system, LINK Interchange Network Ltd.

Arjun is the Senior Advisor, Regulatory Affairs (Institutional & Capital Markets) at The Investment Association, where he works on all capital market and dealing-related issues. Prior to this, Arjun was the Head of EU Affairs at the British Bankers’ Association. Arjun has previously worked at the European Commission and started his career at Canada’s financial services regulator, the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions. He completed his PhD and Master’s degree at the London School of Economics and his Bachelor’s degree in Canada and Germany.

Bill Stenning is Managing Director - Clearing, Regulatory & Strategic Affairs at Société Générale in London and is responsible for co-ordinating the business response to the Regulatory change agenda, primarily focussed on markets.  Bill is Société Générale's delegate on a number of industry association steering committees, as well as representing Société Générale with a range of service providers, CCPs and other financial market infrastructures.

Natan Tiefenbrun, Managing Director, European execution services and co-Head of Agency Equities Trading, Bank of America Merrill Lynch

Natan Tiefenbrun runs Electronic Trading sales and co-heads Agency Equities Trading for Bank of America Merrill Lynch in EMEA, having joined the firm in October 2013. His team was recently recognised in the Financial News 2015 Awards for Excellence as the Electronic Execution Department of the Year (Sellside) and as the Best Firm for Market Structure and Execution Consulting.

Based in London, Natan began his financial markets career at Instinet, an early pioneer in electronic equities trading, where he spent thirteen years developing and running the firm’s portfolio trading, algorithmic trading and sponsored access businesses.

After two years in a VC-funded start-up and immediately prior to joining BofAML, he spent four years with the London Stock Exchange Group, most recently as the chief executive officer of Turquoise, a pan-European equities and equity derivative trading platform. Terri is a Senior Vice President at the Northern Trust Company and is Head of Investment Operations Outsourcing for its Global Fund Services business in EMEA. Her team is responsible for Transaction Monitoring and Settlement, Reconciliations, Transitions, Client Servicing, Data Governance, Client Valuations and Investment Reporting.

Prior to Northern Trust, Terri was at Baring Asset Management for 12 years where her role as Head of Market Activities incorporated responsibilities for Barings’ post execution market-facing activity and asset servicing across the global business including Commission Sharing Arrangements, Counterparty Control functions and Regulatory Reporting.

Terri has represented the buy-side at a number of industry groups, holding the position of chair and vice chair of ISITC Europe. She assisted the European Commission’s CESAME2 working group on the Harmonisation of Settlement Cycles, leading to a recommendation in the reduction of settlement cycles to T+2. She is currently a member of the Omgeo EMEA Advisory Board, ISITC Europe Advisory Board and of the Investment Management Association’s Investment Operations group.Terri has previously held positions within Foreign Exchange at Standard Chartered Bank and held various management roles in both Fixed Income and Equities at Lehman Brothers International.

 

David Weisberger, Managing Director, Head of the Trading and Quantitative Services Group, Markit

David Weisberger is a managing director and head of the Trading and Quantitative Services Group. With over 29 years of direct experience in electronic equity trading, David most recently served as the executive principal for Two Sigma Securities (TSS) and was instrumental in building TSS' various trading businesses. TSS is a registered market maker in over 7,000 NMS securities. 

David started his career in technology as an architect of portfolio trading systems and progressed to having direct responsibility for building Salomon Brothers' international portfolio trading business. In 2000, he became the global architect of the market making system for Salomon Smith Barney, ran the "Best Execution Committee" for the firm and later ran both the statistical arbitrage group and Citi's Lava trading subsidiary.

Nick Williamson is the CEO & Founder of Pythia, the company behind Credits. Nick started his career working in a Hedge Fund Administration while attending Illinois Institute of Technology on a Cross Country & Track scholarship. Eventually Nick realized his first true calling and became an online professional poker player.
