System Integrity: Making Markets Safer
Sponsored by REDI Technologies

As regulators become more focused on technology as a way of protecting against market disruptions, system integrity is becoming a major concern for areas of the market that were previously insulated, including the buy-side. This panel will discuss current considerations in system integrity:

- How do firms handle risk management of their trading platforms (data challenges, continued complexity, market crashes, runaway algos, etc)? Can the Exchanges help with testing facilities?
- REG SCI, including new policies for managing exchange and dark pool technology, represents the regulator’s view of the inability of the SROs to voluntarily police their system's capacity and vulnerability. What are the potential unintended consequences on this new regulation?
- With around 50 trading venues in the U.S., algorithmic trading in US equities is an absolute necessity. Wow will algorithmic trading evolve and what technology challenges are ahead?
- Algos are often blamed for many of the ills of the market, can/should algos be regulated?
